English as an Additional Language
At The Beacon we have children who speak a variety of home languages as well as English. We support, encourage and celebrate the diversity of language, the opportunities this gives us all to learn together and understand the real-world importance of developing our language skills.
As a school, we work closely with the EAL team at Devon County Council to ensure that pupils with English as an additional language are able to access the curriculum. To help our families, we have put together a selection of websites to encourage and build your child's use and understanding of English.
